TRINA SOLAR HAS MANUFACTURED A 100% RECYCLED SOLAR PANEL WITH 20.7% EFFICIENCY
In a world where sustainability is becoming increasingly crucial, solar panel recycling has become a topic of great interest. But we are here demystifying solar panel recycling.
Recently, Trina Solar has taken a significant step by introducing the world's first fully recycled silicon solar panel, as mentioned in an article by the Xataka website. This breakthrough demonstrates the feasibility of complete solar panel recycling and opens new possibilities for the photovoltaic industry.
Solar panels have a (proven) lifespan of up to three decades, after which their efficiency decreases significantly. Until now, complete recycling of these panels has been a challenge due to the high costs resulting from the current low percentage of panels with real possibilities of being recycled and the apparent complexity of the process. However, Trina Solar has managed to overcome these obstacles by developing 37 patented recycling technologies, which allow all valuable components of discarded solar panels to be separated and reused.
Trina Solar's new solar panel from recycled materials using N-type TOPCon cells, achieves a conversion efficiency of 20.7% and a power output of over 645 Wp. Despite being slightly below the efficiency of newly manufactured TOPCon panels, this achievement is an important milestone in the sustainability of the photovoltaic industry. Innovative recycling techniques include in-house developed separating agents, chemical etching technologies, and silver extraction methods using wet treatments.
In this context, our Manufacturing and Marketing business model Integration Coefficient IC, both with our didactic and educational efforts aimed at raising awareness about the importance of recycling and sustainability in the solar industry through educational programs and information campaigns that seek to inspire more companies and consumers to adopt sustainable practices and support the development of renewable energy, and also improving efficiency in the supply chain while promoting long-term sustainability by integrating advanced technologies and automated processes that allow significant savings in the acquisition of solar technology, thus ensuring maximum user satisfaction, plays a crucial role in promoting such recycling initiatives and again, demystifying solar panel recycling.
Trina Solar's progress in recycling solar panels is a testament to the potential of innovation to address environmental challenges. Also, with the support of models such as the Integration Coefficient IC, we can move towards a more sustainable future, where solar technology besides its great current efficiency is also environmentally friendly because of its great recyclability.
